I’ve been riding around Baltimore, MD for a few years now and these are my favorite motorcycle spots that I keep coming back to.
This is a staple motorcycle road for anyone in the Baltimore area. Stretching ~30 miles from the city to the PA state line, this makes for a nice 45-60 minute ride going either way. The great thing about this road is all the other options that branch off along the way. Make it past John Brown Coffee (going north) and pretty much any turn will lead you through some nice tree covered roads & sweeping farm land. Try Butler Rd or Rt 88 towards Hampstead, or Mt. Carmel Rd though Hereford and Monkton to mix things up.
On the north end of Falls Rd you can head east on Beckleysville Rd to cross over the Pretty Boy Reservoir. Take a right from here onto Spooks Hill road & enjoy the winding roads back down to the Pretty Boy Dam. This is a popular destination for moto & car enthusiasts in the area and you’re likely to see a lot of groups coming through on a nice Saturday morning. It’s not a particularly long ride, but it’s definitely my favorite local getaway.
I know… another Reservoir. This destination is essentially “Pretty Boy Lite”, but provides some of my favorite “twisties” closer to the city. This is my top recommendation when you want to get out for a quick hour and “scratch the itch”. When the road is fully open (sometimes closed for weather or construction), it can make for a beautiful 15-30 minute loop around. Easily extend your ride up Manor Rd or Jarrettsville Pike.
